![]() Zeenews Bureau Chennai, March 20: Legendary Tamil and Telugu movie actor, Uppu Shobana Chalapathy Rao popularly known as Sobhan Babu passed away on Thursday morning following a cardiac arrest here. The actor was 71 years old and is survived by his four children, three daughters and one son. Born on January 14 1937, Sobhan Babu made his debut in films with Daivabalam directed by Vasanthkumar Reddy, but the first film that hit the screen was Bhakta Sabari. Sobhan Babu is one of the few actors, who worked opposite now politician Jayalalithaa. Though Sobhan Babu quietly exited from the silver screen, he was a big hit back in his days. His film Manushulu Maarali ran for 25 weeks, which was a record-breaking achievement in those days.
